Hello, I am Louisa, a London girl who loves to cook. I started My Plant Kitchen as a passion project after I moved abroad to Croatia with my husband and son. I’d always been a foodie but I wasn’t very skilled in the kitchen. During my gap year, I became pregnant and decided to move in with my husbands family in Romania, this was a big lifestyle change for me. I started to spend a lot of time with my mother-in-law who is a great home cook. I saw how her meals brought the family together and I was inspired to develop my cooking skills. Shortly after I discovered my love for the kitchen, I watched a documentary, that changed how I looked at food and it motivated me to make more ethical decisions whilst cooking. One of the hardest things about changing my diet was giving up the social aspect of food but then, I realised instead of complaining I could just make plant-based alternatives to the dishes I loved and the dishes from around the world I’d like to try. Thus, My Plant Kitchen is my space where I document and share my “veganized” recipes.
